Keep fit: you’ve nothing to lose but some weight
We all know that losing weight is down to a healthier diet and more exercise, but very often life gets in the way. That’s why we’ve brought the two things together in the form of weekly sessions that include 45 minutes of exercise and 45 minutes of nutritional advice, where you can learn more about eating healthily.
Why lose weight
Maintaining a healthy weight can do so much for both your physical and mental well-being. If you’re carrying excess weight it means you’re more likely to suffer medical conditions including Type 2 diabetes, Coronary heart disease and certain cancers, including breast and bowel. You also have an increased chance of suffering a stroke and a heart attack and weight issues are also linked to depression.
Who can lose weight with us?
- Anyone over 50
- Anyone who lives in one of 52 Staffordshire wards
- Anyone registered with one of 20 particular Staffordshire GP practices
How we can help you to lose weight
Our fully qualified instructors run circuit classes, so you can try lots of different activities within the one session. They are also fun and sociable, giving you the chance meet people who, just like you, want to get fit and lose weight. You can also try healthy walks, lasting between 30 mins and 1 hour and led by a fully trained walk leader. Locations include Rising Brook Methodist Church in Stafford, the Salvation Army in Chesterton, Highland Church and Ramsey Road in Newcastle.
